I have been boating for many years and this was my 9^th new boat I would be buying so I have had my fair share of dealing with people form the “boating “ industry

I simply mentioned to one of my colleagues that I was thinking about buying a new boat and within hours I was called by Craig who was friends with him. After some negotiating I was convinced and Craig assisted me in by trading in my existing boat. The delivery and quality of workmanship was nothing short of outstanding and the after sales service from all the staff at Silver Lake has been fantastic.  I started ski-boating in 1976, and since 1982, we launched Jou Naughty 1 off the beach , first at Aston Bay and then later at Jeffreys Bay. But the years don’t stand still and when the decision was made to upgrade to a larger boat using Port St Francis as a base, the search for the right boat manufacturer started in all earnest. The final choice of a Butt Cat 6.2m for Jou Naughty 2 has proved to be  a good one .

Through a strange set of circumstances my path crossed with that of the people of Silver Lake Marine. A real  blessing in disguise!! From us  meeting in July 2009 till today, our relationship has been a real pleasure as it was built on the solid foundations of :

 Dealing with Craig is a real family affair with both Mom and Dad involved, your going to get looked after. Nothing is too much trouble, promises are kept to and overall it’s been a pleasure to deal with Craig. My boat is well looked after and spotless when dropped off at the beginning of the holidays. When my husband, Richard,  insisted on taking me for a drive to St Francis Bay, I looked forward to seeing the lovely place I had only seen pictures of and heard about. However, when we stopped outside Silver Lake Marine, my enthusiasm waned! My thoughts were: “Here we go again”  Richard, having been the owner of quite a number of ski-boats in the past, was obviously looking at  buying one again. 

I immediately understood the many, long hours spent in his office and on the internet………….. 

Upon meeting Craig and the rest of the team, however, I warmed up to the idea of “only looking” at ski-boats. Many more visits followed and needless to say, the rest is history. 

Having spent numerous hours at Silver Lake Marine, seeing their workmanship, experiencing their enthusiasm in regard to their business and their true interest in giving you exactly what you want and even more, made our decision to buy a Benguela Cat 530 very easy.

Hi Craig,
On the 23 June 2011 I contacted Silverlake Marine and enquired about a river boat I saw advertised on your website. After seeing the boat with you I decided to purchase it and change from a hooked deep sea fisherman to something more relaxing being river fishing.
I took delivery of the boat a week later. Having retired to my farming activities I had some time on hand during the coarse of the following week to rethink whether I had made the correct decision to buy a river boat. Without too much persuasion from myself I decided that a 490 Butt cat would probably suit me should I want to go to sea on the odd occasion. When I discussed returning the boat and sharing what I believed would suit my requirements you without delay convinced me that the Butt cat 490 would be the ideal boat for my dual purpose need.
 
With your Mercury outboard motor and Lowrance equipment knowledge I couldn't question any of your recommendations. I took delivery of the outfit in early November as our agreement.The 2X40 HP 2 stroke Mercs are more than adequate power for the outfit. I used 28 litres of fuel on my maiden trip which covered a distance of 35 km. Unbelievable in comparison to my previous Cougar cat 180 with 2X80 HP Yamahas.
The boat performed better that I expected and we ended up catching some lovely Scotsman, Basterman and Romans.
 
My only complaint is that I had intentions of spending R50000.00 and ended up spending more than R200000. Good selling skills Craig.
 
I would like to thank you, Mario, Sheryl (dad and mom), Andrew and all who assisted with rigging for a job well done. Your honesty and service has resulted in making new friends you can trust.
 
I will and have been recommending Silver Lake Marine to all my friends.

Dear Craig,

I am the owner of a Panache’ – 200hp Mercury V-Max .

Last December holidays I had ongoing problems with the motor losing power . Most frustrating , as the workshop I had been dealing with seemed too busy

( or incompetent ! ) to do a proper repair job .

I got in touch with you and you promised to collect my boat and diagnose the problem .A day later I visited your workshop and met Peter , your highly trained and experienced technician , hunched over my disassembled motor .  A short chat and I knew that my motor and I were in very good hands .Two days later I collected my boat . The fuel injection system had been repaired , the motor serviced , hydraulic trim repaired and even the bilge pump correctly repositioned !Since then I have not used my boat and only put it in the water last week .What a revelation !One turn and instantly the motor started , so quietly that I switched it off and started it again !Taking my boat on the river was great as she just took off.

My outfit is 10 years old and has never gone like this !

Hi Craig

Firstly compliments of the season to you and your family and may this year only generate sales and happiness .I think that you have come to know me by now as a person that has a very specific taste and that I have my own ideas on how thing should look and work!My wife reckons it's called "being difficult" be as it may your advise has found favor with me and we have more than enjoyed the boat over the holiday.

It does exactly want I want and how I want it to do it many individuals have commented on the boat and reckoned that it is something they would consider as it is very spacious ,easy to launch and recover and with the sixty Bigfoot on it so lite on fuel that with just on 11 hours on the motor it consumed a whole 27 liters of fuel !!!
